Chefs in the City
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization, is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.
The Foundation is the leading organization in the United States devoted to cystic fibrosis. It funds and accredits more than 115 CF care centers, 95 adult care programs and 50 affiliate programs, and more than 75 chapters and branch offices nationwide.
Chefs in the City is a unique annual fundraising event that will bring the area’s top chefs together for an evening to offer their signature cuisine to a limited number of guests in an intimate and exclusive setting. Each chef, designing their own menu, prepares a five-course dinner, complete with complimentary wines for one table of 10.
Comfort Our Troops Foundation
Since 2004, Comfort Our Troops has been delivering “Welcome Home” packages to our wounded men and women at the National Naval and Walter Reed Army Medical Centers located in the Washington D.C. area.
Through generous donations from friends and family, concerned Americans, organizations, businesses, schools and children, they have been able to reach over a thousand of our heroes as they return home or even as they are away, defending our nation.
Back on My Feet DC
Back on My Feet, founded by Anne Mahlum in Philadelphia in 2007, is a nonprofit organization that promotes the self-sufficiency of homeless populations by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem. They do not provide food or shelter, but instead provide a community that embraces equality, respect, discipline, teamwork and leadership.
Back on My Feet will be the recipient of two tickets for a D.C. Metro Chocolate Tour, which will be one of the many great items available at their Blue and Green Birthday Bash on March 24, 2011 at the JW Marriot in Washington, DC.
